Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

9 months and still no contract for Florida

No movement on a contract, a company now in bankruptcy, and rumors of the Tampa call center closing. Doesn’t look good for Florida workers!

Who would be disgruntled after working for Frontier?! Unless they went to Windstream, I'd say they are in a better position. If they are ex-employees, I am open to hearing their experiences on some of this too because a company doesnt go bankrupt overnight. Now get back to work, your union break is over LOL

And yet YOU still feel the need to take a look and comment... that says it all

The troll(s) on this board sound like disgruntled ex-employee(s) who can’t find a new job and living in the past. This site is 95% make up stuff.

Yup. Overtime and lots of time in between calls coming in. Once again FTR does the opposite of what normal profitable companies do. I wonder if Bernie knows the company is blowing hundreds of thousand of dollars in unnecessary labor costs to Tampa reps right now? Maybe the managers who spend their time worrying about this board (when they aren’t worried about ordering food or gossiping like high school girls) could explain why to everyone?

Wait there's overtime? Where at in Tampa?? Also its funny with all the rumors running around that no one, company or union, has said anything about anything closing or "forced adjustments," also known as layoffs, YET! It will be interesting to see if anyone steps back to the bargaining table within the fore seeable future if at all.

Why are they offering so much OT in Tampa?

The truth is that the company can do whatever they want right now. They hold all the cards. They can lay everyone off without a severance , lay everyone off with a severance , or offer you your job back at a lower wage with or without a buyout option if you decline. The only thing that is required of them is that they give a 90 day notice of their intentions. The only thing for certain is that they will use the expired contract and flexibility that it gives them to get rid of thousands of high priced employees as a bargaining chip with the bankruptcy judge.

So what’s the truth with Florida? Since you have no contract does Frontier still have to honor your past expired contract or will they let go of everyone and hire back as non-union?

Since we don’t have a contract why would I need to be a union member at this point?
