Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Unemployment Denied

Has anyone who made a claim for unemployment benefits been told by the Texas Workforce Commission that NOV’s 3rd Party unemployment insurance provider said that you were fired instead of laid off despite receiving a termination notice stating it was a layoff (I.e. Reduction in Force)?

Letter stated “Due to current market conditions, you are being advised of the termination of your employment from NOV”.

They even paid severance and vacation earned!

The pink-sheet that you rec'ed should state under "ACT-CARE", to rec'ed unemployment. If not report it to the L.B. it's an act of our Commander of Chief . Get with H.R. or report it to Labor U.S. Broad

They will NOT have your back no matter how good an employee you are. Since under Clay Williams leadership the HR department footprint exploded throughout the company it is now a NAZI environment. It is truly all about Political Correctness and watch your back. A damn shame the good ol days of truly enjoying your job are just a memory!

You did! DO NOT ASPIRE TO WORK FOR NOV!!! There was a time not long ago I would have said the opposite having worked for them since the mid 90's but it is no where near the company it was before the change over in senior management after Pete Miller left as CEO. It didn't take long afterwards for Clay Williams to run the company into the ground. Trust me you do NOT want to work for this company!

Damn, I'm seeing a ton of negative things about NOV on here lately. I was actually about to get a new job with NOV based out of the Tower right before the virus outbreak. Before I could get the job offer from the hiring manager, I was told they are temporarily holding off on hiring for the position.

Reading all of your comments, I feel like I dodged a bullet.
