It's painful for me to see what is happening in our industry and HAL. These are unprecedented times, and for better or worse, several changes are needed.
First, the senior executives must stop micro-managing their employees. It happens far too often at HAL.
Second, a structural change is required, so we can get leaner. Unfortunately, this will lead to more of us getting laid off, but there are simply too many middle managers and VPs who are not pulling their weight. I'm afraid that a substantial cut in G&A is required.
Finally, the top executives need to provide a clear and out-of-box strategy that can be easily messaged to the staff and field level employees. It seems to me that we lack direction on how we can prepare ourselves to come out of this as best as possible.
I hope that my fellow HAL family members and I can come out of this the best we can, but I know that many of us may not make it through the choppy waters. For those of you who were recently let go, or who will be laid off, best of luck on your future endeavors. For those still with HAL, let us stay calm and work through this together.
I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8
