This was inevitable when they merged roadway and yellow. Roadway was always profitable and now they are going under. They sold all the good equipment and got rid of the better roadway higher ups and kept all of the yellow flunkies

the name-calling in fighting and merger had nothing to do with the current condition of the company, roadway and yellow two great companies that had been around since the 1930s, and had a lot of pride in the company they worked for, as an old roadway and now YRC dock worker I'll tell you first-hand all we can do is unload and load the freight and all the drivers can do is move that Freight the real problems came from corporate greed Executives giving themselves huge bonuses for running a failing company, for 10 years this went on while they stole money from their employees and ruin their pensions, so in terms of rising Above This current condition it'll never happen until they change this YRC management from the top down.
The flunkie comment seemed to be directed toward Yellow corporate managers. Prior to merger the financials of Roadway however were in fact much more sustainable than Yellows. Yellow purchased Roadway as a way to try to balance its books. Regardless of all that, the merger of the two was not the key to their undoing. The downfall was the subsequent acuisitions of and in some instaces overpaying for other brands that were added to the portfolio. When employees resort to name calling and cursing one another it weakens both your validity and hope for rising above this dire situation.
