Anyone know if there will be another round of a volunteer program with severance before layoff? CEO already mentioned we would come out of this smaller so I know a layoff will occur soon. I think more will volunteer as the COVID-19 scare subsidies and 401K correct themselves a bit.

I wonder how transitioning the work of the volunteers will go. What if it's transitioned to an involuntary layoff? For anyone who remains, they will probably have so many more responsibilities they probably won't be able to get anything done hardly at all. If you were understaffed before then just wait and see what it's like in a few months after all the layoffs!
Dude, no. There will certainly be layoffs, maybe furloughs but nothing voluntary. Look at the bright side, at least you'll be eligible for unemployment.
Would be fantastic if the same enhanced severance package were offered again but I am sadly extremely, extremely skeptical. My guess is that next round will be straight layoffs. Will hurt if we get laid off before the people that took enhanced severance get their last severance check.
If they had said that the voluntary severance would begin in August then I bet there would have had hundreds more volunteers. I bet there are loads of people kicking themselves now for not volunteering because they thought it would happen at the start of May.
If they do want more volunteers then hopefully there will be another round but with a defined severance date this time, maybe even with a sweeter deal but probably not (unless there were really few volunteers). Then go to furloughs and/or involuntary layoffs only after that.
Unfortunately, the longer one hangs on the leas generous employers are and in some ways can be given at this stage it is a fight for survival.
I’m kicking myself as well but my 401k has taken a big hit it made me not volunteer. Now I think most of us will get laid off we may not get our vacation paid and severance will not be as good.
Kicking myself for not signing up but it was unclear when last work day would be and team I am on is swamped with work at least for short-term.
no reason to have another round. next will be furloughs and/or layoffs. but definitely coming given how less airline capacity in the years to come = fewer bookings = less revenue
No, next mandatory furloughs for months followed by a layoff letter. 40-50%
