Thread regarding Baker Tilly layoffs

Performance Based layoffs

Folks in my office office who had performance issues had already been targeted - talked to. We do it at the end of the fiscal year, Corona will accelerate things...

Practice leaders were directly invoked in the decisions and it came down to performance reviews and not forced cuts.

Baker Tilly always says it wants to keep good performers only this kind of fits that plan.

I am hearing that things are starting to look better, more consulting sold and more audit work etc

I volunteered to take a pay cut, move to a different practice area and even relocate on my dime to save my job but they wouldn’t even consider it. I was the most recent hire in my group (December 2019) so I guess that is why it happened so quickly.

I know other team members in our group were being moved around to other practice areas to preserve their jobs for the time being.
