Not all were low performers. Some who were let go had exceeding expectations performance reviews in February of this year...
I assumed they already laid off low performers
If iCIMS were a sinking ship, it would be the Titanic and lifeboats would have perforated hulls manufactured by Vista.
By design, these lifeboats cannot maintain buoyancy without the right leader to navigate uncertainty and crew members with the ability to bail seawater out of the lifeboats faster than it floods the perforated hulls.
Who will be the first crew members to be thrown out of the lifeboats? Who will be second, third?
Well, if you are currently on a PIP, haven't been promoted or received a pay increase within the last six months, you're at-risk whether you know it or not. Hopefully, you have the skills needed to stay afloat or swim towards another employment vessel.
That being said, don't be surprised if someone throws chum in the water along with you.
It's that kind of culture.

Wave 1 just hit. Team moral is rock-bottom.
Wave 2 will come, the Wave 3... Make peace with it and find yourself a new job! I already did. There are companies still hiring (even if in non-tech sectors).
