Trump was briefed in January that this would be bad. He was briefed again in early February. He did nothing and played golf. South Korea, which had vigorous testing, has an 0.6% Covid-19 death rate and only had 222 deaths overall last time I checked. New Zealand did even better, with only 39 deaths as of the last report. Again, vigorous, AVAILABLE testing, and a quick, definite government response which was incredibly effective.
You can blame China for being the origin point, but Trump and our government have failed miserably. Widespread testing is still not available unless you're almost dead. So, take your Tide Pod and glass of bleach and call me in the morning.
