Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

This explains a lot

Yes my husband just got laid off today in TX. His own boss in NYC wasn't aware and also fears he's done too. Laid off through internal text messaging till HR could catch up. Covid 19 was the reasoning

Is this really what's happening? No wonder then we are seeing the wrong people being laid off when people making the decision have no idea who we are and what we do. Basically, we are screwed.

I was one of the laid off employees. I worked for 16 years and remember the wonderful days of Cablevision, the $0 cable bills and the great benefits we had.

Since Altice, all started to change and knowing that March 2020 they had one of their strongest months on sales, it makes me feel betrayed and angry. I was laid of by phone right after the conference meeting from the so call "Senior Leaders". Right after the announcement, it took 5 to 10 minutes to get his phone call letting me go.

Two days prior that my father passed away and I communicate to my manager. Apparently nobody knew or they just did not care.

I just wish you all staying, Good Luck, Be Safe, and don't trust management. Sooner or later, they'll stave you on the back!

To answer your question, my salary was cut 20%. So I was told to “work less”. My department is very busy, I don’t know how that’s possible. Lucky to still be around during this pandemic. A lot of Americans are unfortunate right now. Hope for the best that things can return to normal sooner than later. Trying to be optimistic.

Covid is an excuse. I smell fraud. I hope the company sales to an American that cares about its employees and customers like it use to be. They have lost all of their talent and only keep lower paid low knowledge people. I watched it degrade over the last three years. I took VRP back then. It was once a good company to work for. I gave them 35 years.

It happened yesterday. A lot of good people laid off and some on partial furlough. I was fortunate to keep my job but my salary was cut.
