Confirmed, 70 RIFs in TGS as announced on the Town Hall. It was handled terribly and many managers were blindsided by the fact that they were losing people. Additionally, many people critical to daily core IT operations are gone, leaving the wrong people behind to cope with the gap. Who is going to deliver services to the massive new Business Partner org?
This is a slow motion train wreck.
They let go of 70 plus out of IT services area.
There were layoffs in Corporate today, any news on how many?
Glad I left this dump 2 years ago & retired. Typical corporate hacks only looking out for themselves.
then quit. Go get a job with Amazon.
to Tired of everybody b–ching and moaning....
You are the reason things don't change...Take a look at Amazon and their recent decision to almost cut dividends to focus money on employees. It is a choice, and BD made another one: pay the highest dividend in its history while reducing employees benefits. It goes to show how many lies are being fed to employees and Tom is just another puppet controlled by wall street. As for being lucky to have a job, it is another reason to not challenge the status quo. Things change because people change them. And it starts by people realizing the truth they are not being told. If you like being f in the a$$, it's your choice but let people express their frustration with BD's disgusting decisions.
Why would BD not look out for the shareholders?? If you work there you are a shareholder as well. Ask yourself this, how would you feel if you worked at one of the major airlines and just saw your retirement account drop 70 percent? Does Tom Polen deserve his pay, no. But what are you gonna do about it and what do you expect him to do? He was offered whatever package the directors gave him. In my mind no one is worth that kind of Mulon Rouge. Is it scummy that they f—ed their employees, absolutely. But if you owned a company are you telling me you wouldn't take advantage of the situation in the same manner, or even worse? I doubt it. I love how everyone on here makes a cry to the little guy. Poor me, and the rest of us pee-ons. F— you! Put in as much as you can to offset the difference because the market is still cheap. You'll be happy in a year when BD stock climbs like crazy from the 401k reductions and restructuring and come October it'll be old news. Move on, nothing to see here. That is, until September when we start to see the annual cuts in corporate and California. Cry me a river, boohoo. Be thankful you have a job. A lot of folks don't.
Wow this company is straight up trash...
one of the measures was a "reduction" of base pay for management and execs. 40% at exec level...BIG JOKE! If Tom Pollen's package is similar to what Vince's was, that's peanuts! Vince's base pay only represented 8% of his yearly comp, so do the math...40% of 8% for 3 months...that's less than 1% of annual comp. What an effort!
In the meantime, the company won't match the 401k plan for the rest of the calendar year and regular employees are the most impacted as usual...
"we are all in this together" they say....really? what effort is being asked from the shareholders? NONE
One more thing: show us how much we've saved by outsourcing everything? If the proof is in the puddin', give us a spoon full of that delicious sh– Tommy Boy! I wanna know, because in my mind its fraud, waste and abuse and the person who said this was a cost savings is a f—ing liar or an id–t and should be fired, not promoted.
I doubt it affects production facilities. And they need to let go of contractors and Temps as far as I'm concerned they do very little. Sorry to be blunt but Dunning Kruger is alive and well within the bd contracts. They have bled BD dry and have for 2 years and certainly someone is watching. We've seen simple plumbing quotes come in a 5k minimum. Guys on the floor can go the job, yet we outsource to contractors. Its time BD gets back to business and use their own resources. And guys on the production floor time to let your balls drop and man the f— up. BD workforce has adopted a union attitude where this is my job, and that isn't. b—s—. You're job is to do whatever you're capable of to keep production moving forward. If you are capable of something, then it is your job.
When do you think they will announce this internally? Is it all temps?
All contractors or only from specific department/site?
Contractors and temps being let go!
