Re-opening Greenway, must have a cautious approach

OXY needs to take a very cautious approach in reopening Greenway. Greenway is quite dense and has crowded elevators. We need to see how this reopening of other places work first, number of new cases, etc. Most of us are working quite efficiently from home. I suggest a June 1 target date and stagger floors /employees, but all depends on what else happens out there first. OXY doesn’t need to rush to reopen Greenway May 1. Meanwhile it would be nice if there was a company wide program to have all employees tested first for exposure to CV and or antibodies to CV, whichever is available. Given the contagiousness of this virus I personally do not feel it’s a violation of my civil liberties, but rather public health management in reopening a dense office complex like Greenway. Better Safe than sorry and or another epidemic of sick employees.

Everyone needs masks, goggles and earplugs. Then as we try to work at out monitors our goggles will fog up.

Oh and try using the toilet without being contaminated by someone else's p–p that is infected as its being vaporized from flushing. Not possible.

I think STD might be paid by Oxy, and LTD may be under an insurance company. I can see for those of us that don't want to come back having to use our vacation, and then go on with no paid leave. It might be up to us to get a form signed by our doctors that we are okay to report to work, and some type of liability waiver for Oxy on our return to work.

I have another solution. How about laying off those that want to be laid off, and that will take a group of people that don't want to be there and the expense will not be that much since our salaries are cut. By the way we are not getting our salaries back in August, so we all might as well get used to what we make. Once August hits the LAPC folks will be right there with us.

They could also just let us work remotely since we are making 30% less than before. I would probably do that to finish out my career at Oxy. Any team building or community building will be hard for Oxy to get back again, so why be around co-workers. If we make it through this virus and downturn I see most of my co-workers looking for other work as soon as possible. I am an older worker so it does not affect me as much, but I know a lot of young and mid career people that are just waiting to leave. Any Oxy community is dead, and I just hope they realize that and don't bother with Astros tickets, golf simulators, etc. All that c-ap is going to do nothing to build morale and is just a waste of time. From old to young if anything people should see that it is best to hold your on destiny, and never get so deep with a company that you are stuck. In the end you are just a number to them, and you might as well jump around to different companies to find what you want.

You all are so naiive like I was when they told us to move to Conoco Campus. It is clear from the last emails they are desperate to micromanage us again in plain sight. Yes, June should be a more rational approach but for companies like CVX who really care about their people. The Oxy way will be: show up May first. An email from VG saying we belong to the Essential work category, something regarding Sense Of Urgency, temperature check for sure, bring your own mask to work (they cant get a hold of so many of them), run crowded elevators and use all those vacation time for sick days. It is going to be natural selection folks. They rather have us under STD or LTD off the books than pay out our salaries.

Masks for everyone should be mandatory. That's the only way we can beat this and get back to sorta-normal.
