Anyone else think the current ADP CEO, Carlos Rodriquez, needs to be replaced based on his terrible judgement and ADP's declining stock performance? Regardless of Coronavirus or not, ADP stock is in a perilous place and very shaky at best. Thinking about the short and long term future of ADP, it is clear that a new CEO is needed with better mental horsepower than the lame excuse we have now. Thoughts?

Yes, we need to get him out. Now!
My vote is to replace the CEO! His leadership is harming the company and clients, and mostly all the employees!
That balding old dude needs to lay himself off! He is a terrible CEO and a ethically bankrupt individual still looking to layoff even more people. His ideas are very flawed.
Yes, the CEO of ADP, Carlos Rodriquez has a "little man" issue. He feels the need to over compensate for his shortcomings and to hurt others in order to feel important. His leadership vision is truly flawed and instead of admitting his mistakes he doubles down on more and more layoffs in order to attempt to make the financials look bigger. He has a problem. Truly he does. More layoffs ahead as long as "little man" is running the company.
I loath him. I also took the early retirement and believe me it was not due to his kind heart. He has dollar signs met only for him. He has cut back so much on the workforce that employees have 50 hours work if not more and expected to complete it in 40 hours and not have any overtime. That is how ADP is making their numbers look good and we have Carlos to thank. I may no longer work there but I know many people who do who are overworked and not appreciated. I was there for 32 years and the last 10 were awful for the majority of employees. I had the best job at ADP and that is why I stayed but I must speak for those who are afraid to speak up in fear of losing their job.
I suspect most employees will now agree with you considering the damage he has inflicted upon so many people and the shambles he has made of ADP. It is time for him to go.
Carlos is a crook in a suit. He needs to be a crook in jail.
Nope, not trying to imply Carlos is failing because of what's happening in the market on just one day. I am conveying that if you did your homework you would see that the ADP price drops are consistently more than the market average when things go down and consistently less when it and the market go up. It certainly is no coincidence and has been happening for quite a long time now.
It is because the general belief in the street is ADP is not in a good position due to many factors. Some of which include horrible CEO policies and poor vision and leadership. Lack of trust by the employees of the management. Other include eroding business landscape, highly fragile products, bad employee moral, new unskilled employees, high turnover, unhappy clients, and the list goes on. The CEO has to take full responsibility regardless of the cause. Bottom line, it is time for a new CEO.
I apologize, you are not unhinged, your response is respectful. My issue is with those that lash out.
I respect your point of view completely. I just ask that we keep this based in reality.
You do sir or madam.
All my best.
Unhinged indeed. I appreciate your passion, I truly do.
Our competitors are or soon will be faced with equally troubling issues, probably are.
TBD, whether current decisions or previous deciions will ultimately decide the fate of ADP.
My contention is that ADP will continue, for years be the leader in the HCM field.
I appreciate the respectful debate amongst clear minded folks like yourself.
All my best.
Despite what is happening in the market, Carlos is failing. He failed to realize that you cannot get rid of highly experienced personnel so quickly and easily just to save on labor costs because the learning curve of the new less-paid employees is very steep, no matter the intelligence of the new employees. It takes years for new employees to get up to speed. Carlos failed to realize that, but as the CEO, he is required to know his company inside and out. But he didn't and is now paying the price. Severe loss of the company's knowledge base. Poorly serviced and angry clients. Exasperated and demotivated employees. Things are catching up.
And this is a dispassionate and sober assessment. No anger here. Just the facts.
However, when you don't have a solid argument, you have to resort to calling your opponents as angry and unhinged, thinking that somehow their posts won't be taken seriously because of that accusation. But anger, even if present, doesn't change the facts. And the facts clearly show that ADP is in a world of hurt right now, brought on by inept management that was trying to save on labor costs, not knowing what it was doing.
I agree with the last post, I like this site because there are intelligent reasonable folks here and unhinged angry folks.
Basically the same as all my years at ADP.
Are you really trying to imply Carlos is failing because of what's happening in the market on one day? There are lots of headwinds, employment levels, overall economy, interest rates and others that have nothing to do with internal ADP operations. They've made mistakes, but to say that the outside world isn't the biggest driver of the stock price is not being honest about the situation. On top of that, the stock has performed about in line with the overall market.
ADP stock is down TWICE the percentage drop that the market (indexes) are. 4.2% drop by ADP vs 2.1% market drop right now. There is a reason for that. ADP has some serious serious problems. Bad leadership, declining business landscape, angry clients, inexperienced/cheap workforce, highly dated fragile products, and a plethora of middle management do nothings.
A CEO is typically judged by the stocks performance by the market. ADP's CEO made exceptionally bad blunders in eliminating it's skilled, knowledgeable, proven, tenured employees in favor of cheap, inexperienced labor. That is hugely why ADP is positioned so poorly right now and why clients have been leaving us. The stock is reflecting that more than the effects of the coronavirus. The coronavirus is just been tossed around as a cover for bad leadership. Period.
"His leadership skills with the employees have been on point during this pandemic..." Are you kidding me? Terminating employees? Really? On Point? Just because he tossed you a $1000 chicken feed check (which will gross up income and you have to pay taxes on) as a PR stunt, you are awfully blinded. Exactly the effect they were trying to achieve!
Make no mistake, this CEO is the reason ADP will take a terrible hit and the companies failing left and right (especially small businesses) will directly affect ADP. The "payroll tax" holiday, will directly affect ADP. The landscape of horrible management will affect ADP. The ineffective (cheap) Indian labor will and has been affecting ADP. The TRUTH is ADP's road ahead is extremely rocky and much of that lies at the feet of bad decisions by this CEO. Period!
Who takes the CEO position after he leaves then? DW? Not sure how much better that would be for us. He’ll move all of his Strategy cronies into all the high positions and we’ll all go crazy creating decks all day.
Eh, if he needs to go, it is not for this reason. The stock performance, at this moment, has absolutely nothing to do with him or his leadership skills. His leadership skills with the employees have been on point during this pandemic and I am grateful for ADP and all they have offered during this time.
Who here doesn't take personal accountability and expects a job for life? Most people here who work for ADP, who work for another company, or are retired, did take personal accountability and earned and kept jobs for their adult lives. They have been successful. It seems strange to make a general statement that people expect a job for life. This is America, not a socialist country.
If Carlos took responsibility for his own life, so did just about everyone else with varied results. Nothing new or extraordinary here.
It must be nice to have the "accountability" that Carlos has. If ADP is a success, he walks away a rich man. If ADP goes under, he walks away a rich man.
Nice two options to have.
Personal accountability pal, I took charge of my life, my familys life without expectations of someone else giving me a job for life. I did it from when I left high school.
Sorry people feel otherwise.
You get the shoe out of your rear yet with that VERP package?
I love the guy, gave me a SWEET VERP package.
Carlos does not need to be replaced. he needs to be jailed.
Completely agree. He must go.
In addition, if he is shown the door, the person replacing him will have a h*** of a time fixing and righting the company due to the serious damage that this current CEO has already done.
I'll raise my hand. He needs to go.
