Thread regarding Sears layoffs

This crisis has created a new world

We're in a brand new retail world where people are focused on saving money, on essentials, and buying only what they really need. Kmart saw positive sales growth during the 08-09 financial crisis. Now is the time for Kmart to be re-opened right across the country. Kmart is a treasured part of America and now is the time for brand new stores offering the best value with a trusted brand. Re-opening brand new, clean stores, with enhanced measures will be a huge success! Kmart can build from scratch and build stores that are set to succeed in a post cover 19 world. These are the moments in history where new companies rise to the top. I still believe Eddie had a strategy and will make Kmart the greatest comeback in retail history. Sometimes things need to be taken small before they go big again. At this point Kmart would be starting from scratch which would be a huge advantage. Bigger chains are hard to pivot, Kmart would be starting from scratch with stores custom built for this new world. Right now Kmart is like Amazon in the 90s: it's all a clean slate! Picture cities that used to have 4 or 5 decrepit Kmarts and Sears with one brand new, 2020 built, clean, modern, Sears/Kmart combo store that makes Target look downmarket!

Stay safe and God bless! We will get through this!

Brand new world? I'm in my 50s and this is how people lived in the world until mass consumerism took hold. People repaired things like electronic equipment, grew food in a garden, and actually passed down their clothes to a younger sibling. So, no, this isn't a brand new world. It's how real life needs to be before we destroy this planet.

The OP should run for political office....Politicians are known for doing a lot of talking...while not saying much of substance....
The OP would fit right in with the other windbags.

The only hope for Kmart is if Wesfarmers, the owners of Kmart Austrailia, bought out Kmart in the U.S. and invested in stores here like they have in Austrailia. That is the only way of Kmart surviving in the United States.

Trust me when I say this, this is not going to happen. I work for a Kmart and I've been furloughed and from what my immediate supervisor has told me, it is not looking good for any of them working there in the near future. There is NO turn around in this. NONE

Eddie does not invest in things like that.

If you believe in Eddie and his "Strategy", then no need to post about it. Just sit back and await his coming!
