Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

Good Friday/Easter Layoffs

Here is a new low.

I am one of the few still left hanging on and I feel ashamed, other than the fact that I have a family and NEED this job. Several employees that I knew and respected were let go today. I understand cost cutting, but holy s*** how much would it have hurt to pay these people til Tuesday?

Layoffs are one thing, rude HR, and complete lack of empathy are another. I'm not one to believe in Karma but if it is real.....there are some folks that are owed some.

Come on people - you all knew this was coming? Jas*sChrist has been loading up the upper echelons and created new ones for his friends for years now.

The ongoing Project Abyss started when the 'not to be named ones' on-boarded (under MM speak) under then dotard Farris. Then it accelerated when they pulled 'Alpine LOW Discovery out of drawer. Never in my long career have I EVER seen a declared 95% oil find go to a 97% gas find in 4 years, after 3.5 Bill down the proverbial hole, and ZERO, but ZERO repercussions for the responsible management? I am thinking, maybe just maybe, nah, dare I say, colossal technical and fiduciary oversight failure, maybe?

It's all been about getting ready for the big buy-out and pay day with golden parachutes for the great managers and the board. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US, EVER.

Just sickening. As a slew of new directors appear in planning.

Sick to hear they terminate employees on Good Friday! That might be lower then cutting people while quarantined at home. You actually believe the layoffs are going to end May 18 because the CEO said! His track record is full of lies and deceit and it will go on longer. They are preparing the next "koolaid" pitch for you all to hang on for a little longer. More cuts are coming, no one is safe. That date has changed 3 times already.

Workers in the field. Employees, not contractors. The sad thing is useless entities were promoted and given a pay raise at the same time. The layoffs make sense, the company has performed so bad over the past year. What makes zero sense is why long term underachievers have survived the layoffs and many are getting paid more. Only thing I can think of...pretty mouths.

Don't forget, CEO announced layoffs through May 18th. Which means more are on the way. Gotta trim the beef to keep the fat. Wait, that doesn't sound right. Hmm
