Notice he says his job is running the fund. No mention of Sears Kmart or Transform in the biography sentence at the bottom.
There are some good ideas here but he's such a Richard Cranium that he has zero credibility
I dont know what to say about this
Again
LMFAO
Amazing! :( So what "traffic signals" is Uncle Eddie going to institute for the poor in home technicians who STILLL have not received hand sanitizer... or any other PPE??? They go into a home …. sit on the floor that germs that have been carried into the house on shoes.... or germs have landed on from uncovered sneezes or coughs... work on a dishwasher that has been touched by kids with germs on their hands…. etc... While everyone else in the universe is getting $2 an hour extra for working thru this....techs are reminding to sell more home warranties and wash their hands and provided with link on how to make a mask....
“Consumers will turn around and walk out of a store with inadequate customer spacing.”
Good observation, Eddie, although customer “spacing” hasn’t been much of an issue in Sears or Kmart stores for the last 15 years or so. This guy really lives in an alternate universe.
All is good in the world of Eddie as he sits safely on his Fountainhead yacht!
Hopefully the feds will have a phase 5 stimulus package for Transformco rescue.
The man lives in his own insulated bubble, completely isolated from any sense of reality.
It's amusing to read a statement like this from a guy who is afraid to get on an airplane. He can talk big about facing up to the virus while holed up in his $40m mansion or motoring around the ocean on his $132m yacht.
Advice from the King Of Retail....we all should listen closely since he did such a great job implementing forward thinking business practices for the 3,500 store footprint with $50b + revenue.
So are employees still working at K-Mart being provided masks? Are they taking their temperatures twice a day? There are no K-Marts in my area. If Lampert thinks these are good ideas, he should be implementing them in the few stores remaining open.
Does the genius understand driving on freeway is not contagious? Does the ex-next warren buffett know people die of COVID without touching each other while car accidents don't happen without contact? Does the serial worst CEO of america know there is nothing asymptomatic about vehicle accidents? Does the non-micromanager comprehend when there are multiple serial accidents on the freeway, traffic does come to a standstill? How long is he visiting earth?
Hey Eddie - Stop writing c-ap on the Internet that no one cares about and focus on the tasks at hand - like saving your company or paying your vendors or ??? Given the mess your businesses are in I wouldn't waste time entertaining your ego writing dribble.
I get what he's saying, and it seems like sense. But, cars out there on 90 are likely being driven by people who have been doing it for years. There's no panic, no doubt, no hysteria. We can't say the same for going to the grocery store these days. We've only been dealing with this for a couple weeks. My own experience tells me people have no concept of "six feet." Our brains have long since adjusted to driving, we do it automatically. When stores have to put tape on the floor to show people how to stand six feet apart - well, we have a long way to go before the traffic analogy works.
This article should be titled “ Deep thoughts by Eddie Lampert”. With the exception of his bizarre comparison of a pandemic to traffic fatalities the rest could have been written by Captain Obvious. Interesting that he makes no mention of how this is impacting Transform Co or his stores, just obvious generalizations about consumers.
I agree with Eddie 100%. If the economic system collapses, many millions will die of hunger, unclean water, and disease.
Cars are visible, viruses are not. You can pretty much tell when someone is driving drunk, but you can't tell if someone washed his hands ("Employees must wash hands", the others, well, must do what their mama taught them, i.e.: nothing). If a car has a flat tire it cannot be driven, but a sick, inconsiderate person can still go to a party and spread a deadly disease. If people were cars, it would be much easier to deal with this crisis, but they're not.
