The problem is bad decisions were made by Ex Com for many years and subsequently that weakened the balance sheet. The Baker merger debacle, going after market share at any cost (mostly negative). Until leaders are held accountable for their actions, these types of bad decisions will continue to be made because the only people that suffer from it are the ones actually working and bringing in the money. The stock price has never really recovered from the last downturn and much of this is also related to leadership. The market has no faith in HAL leadership. Unless you are changing with the times and looking for new markets, products, solutions, you are doomed. Baker Hughes seems to have done a pretty good job of it but HAL is still stuck in their roots and leaders are selected through the good ole boy network as opposed to selecting leaders who are visionaries and can speak freely without someone having to prepare a speech for them. This doesn't mean you have to be nice either.... look at Bezos and Jobs.... heck, both those guys are/were ruthless; but guess what, they did great things, created a ton of jobs and people wanted to work for them because they ultimately knew their companies would be successful. Aside from Earl P himself, our leaders are always defined by scandal, misfortune, litigation and bad decisions! Mr. Miller’s legacy will now be how he handled this crisis and the subsequent adjustment in the coming years.

There is no doubt, that funding is poorly handled at Halliburton . The waste, the thoughts of endless budget, the apparent ways of how we conduct transactions with third party contractors, and how they seem to have a blank check authorization , the list can go on an on. We’ve all seen the apparent double standards when it comes to payroll, and how upper personnel only worry about their own area, and never see the company as a whole. The words “ team”, shouldn’t be put on a uniform, it’s their biggest lie. BUT....beyond all that, it’s not their fault that Saudi opened the valve wide open. That my friend, is something we can blame ourselves as Americans , we should have been totally independent when it comes to our energy and not left vulnerable .

Just remember, their grave is just as deep as everyone else's who got laid off. Everyone on that call has enough dirt on MANY people in that shop to make it a little deeper. It's just a matter of time untill the truth comes out

Im glad I took the package in December instead of making the move. I know I let my lead down when I did so. But I had a feeling that this was gonna happen some time this year. And being a single parent it just wouldnt of worked. I feel terrible for my buddies that got the axe. Some that had transferred more than once during their time with the flying H. I hope they find something soon. Funny thing is tomorrow would of been my 3 year anniversary. It popped up on facebook earlier today. Good luck to all that deserve it. To hell with the ones that dont.

There was about 10 in our conference call this morning. There will be another round. Glad to see the time thief and the gerbal hiding their tails in their a– and not even be man enough to say good luck. I'd rather clean the dog sh– I stepped in this morning durring the call than help them if they were on fire

Yup just think about the people that got moved from the Wyoming area up to Williston who got the boot this week. I worked in the Rock Springs district but I took the package instead of the Williston transfer because I knew this was going to happen
