Thread regarding IBM layoffs

IBM’s weak response to our clients during COVID-19

Am I the only one who thinks IBM’s response to our clients during COVID-19 has been weak?
Yes they have gotten the good press by contributing to the industry consortium and developing the Watson app. But IBM is a B2B company, not a B2C company. I see no evidence of what we are doing for our clients during this time. I’m talking about offering additional services or support tailored to where our clients are needing help, flexible payments for financially insolvent clients, scaling down proactively, etc.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could be viewed as an understanding, trustworthy partner to lead us through this crisis?
Clients are not going to be in a position to pay for large IT transformation programs any time in the next few years. It’s time we humble ourselves and pivot to where clients are heading.

I see nothing of what the folks are reporting here... IBM response to the virus is tepid at best.

I complain about a lot of aspects of IBM, but the Covid response isn't one of them.

@OP+: I believe you'll get a lot of IBM employees that will take this as a personal attack and won't agree with you. We are working hard I'm confident of. It's the management and insistence of sticking with the old ways that are slowing us down. Add to that the hype that our marketing machine produces, i.e "contributing compute cycles", "donating lots of money" is the equivalent of just showing that they're doing anything and that alone is good. It doesn't matter that it's just for PR. I'd love to see someone who actually shows that x$ was donated and where it went. Not just a press release from New York that says they gave. Also these magical "compute cycles".

Exact opposite to what I've been seeing. IBM is taking COVID-19 seriously and many F1000 companies are expanding IT projects and infra to support the WFH initiatives due to the lockdowns in place worldwide.
