Bonus pay (furlough)

Hello

Do those furlough had their bonus paid? At least to help them

Also if I wasn’t furlough and staples said they want to pay the bonus once this crisis is over, however Im planning to leave in the coming month since they confirmed that they wanted to pay the bonus but may leave on my own anyway, should I just accept I won’t see that bonus...

I’m not sure what the bonus payout policy is

They haven’t communicated the payout which is the first time in years. You know they will drastically cut the % to save $.

Office Depot will be around longer than Staples.

The severance paperwork states that my bonus will be paid, prorated. I found it odd, but welcome the funds.

Unless there were explicit call outs in the severance packages in 2019 regarding bonus payouts, they absolutely do not have to gives those associates bonus pay. The terms of the bonus clearly state that you have to be an employee in good standing at the time of the bonus payout to be eligible.

Staples is obligated, by law, to pay your bonus under the terms established and communicated last year. They cannot choose to ignore or change bonus conditions without your expressed consent, or that is considered constructive dismissal. See a lawyer.

They also need to pay bonus for anyone with severance from the 9/2019 layoffs. That's a big number!

Still no date for bonus payout of active employees. Absurd they are hanging this over our heads. We earned it, the money was there, 3/27 was the payout date, and now crickets. Awful leadership. Goes to show how much they care about the people trying to plug the holes in this sinking ship. You drag your feet in taking care of the people who keep the lights on, I’ll drag my feet getting the work done.

NEW bonus policy is that you MUST be an "active employee in good standing" on the date of payout.

This was changed from last year where you only needed to be an active employee in good standing on the last day of the fiscal year.

Just another change they never published.

CEO said he is cutting his Salary by 50%, So believe He must put huge number of employees on Partial Furlough or Salary cut. And in extreme case Full Furlough. Its basically a Capital reduction of company. I donot think by just cutting couple of Employee Partial Furlough or Salary cut, Staples can save huge amount of money. Its just March Sales Drop. Keeping fingers crossed for Apr, May ...

Does anyone have an idea what the payout percentage was for NAD? That number has been a mystery.

Furloughed associates will receive their bonus in their 4/17 checks.
