Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

Massive layoffs 4/8/2020

Lost half of my team (of about 70 people) and we are not the only ones who suffered today. Pay cuts are being delivered as well.

Not "manager's choice". Managers were told layoffs must and will happen. Managers were also fired.

Package was some Vaseline and 12 weeks of pay for people less than 10 years. Some subsidized cobra as well, do not have the details on amounts yet.

What I've heard semi-officially through management is the usual severance package is being offered. Anyone with 1 year plus being offered 4 weeks plus 1 week per year of service capped at 26 weeks, COBRA, some BS happy-face consultancy "job placement aid service", some other minor things.

Is it true that this time there is no severance package?

I know if you just lost your job it leaves you with a lot of anxiety, and with the Covid situation not helping, but I remember that feeling in October of 2017 when it happened to me. My advise collect your unemployment plus you will get even more 600 on top of the standard, use the time to prepare for when things stabilize, you will be way better off then you were at Allscripts both professionally, and in you personal life. Once back on your feet you’ll wonder why you put up with that toxic company for as long as you did. don’t look back look forward! HB

I was told that this round of layoffs was “manager’s choice”. As a strong and well paid subordinate with a weak manager I was surprised that I was selected.

Current and former employees know that Allscripts has a severe Management problem. When you start to see people get promoted with no previous experience or understanding of how to manage people within a BU you start to feel blessed that they put you out of your misery. I am thankful that I now have an opportune to exist outside of the toxic culture of Allscripts leadership. Many have extended prayer for my future; I pray for those good people that have to still travel on the ship. God Speed!

Would anyone reveal what the package was?

I support the temporary salary reductions (mine included). Many, many companies did so weeks ago and many more to come. Counting my blessings.
To the hundreds of associates terminated, as well as millions nationwide, you are in my prayers.

I am in the Practice Fusion unit of Allscripts based in San Francisco we lost our General Manager and VP of customer success yesterday as well as some Account Mangers. In total we lost 6 people for a team of about 180.

Our department still paid bonus but not 100% payout, better than nothing.

For those saying people will still get bonuses, some departments have already had meetings where the payout pot was shown to be ZERO. So high-end tech engineers in those departments lose all bonus, have a sliding pay cut, get no severance, and have to work extra to make up for people being gone. Higher-ups should have told everyone about the mandatory pay cuts in advance before deciding to lay off the people they chose, as many would have willingly sought out and found other jobs with a proper warning period. These were cruel and inconsiderate moves both to those laid off and those remaining, and it positions the company very badly for the future.

I was laid off today and heard of a former coworker and her mother both laid off and another former coworker and her daughter both laid off- 2 separate mother-daughter teams!!! What a loss that was. One was a nurse and she was one of the most hard-working and knowledgeable BAs in that department.

I was laid off today and I was in Quoting for TW and was told my position was being eliminated but yet they pulled someone from another area to start training quoting last week. Very suspicious indeed. This is my second lay-off with the company, having suffered the lay-offs from Nov 2019. Bitter taste in my mouth for this company. Epic needs to go ahead an consume Allscripts because that is where Allscripts is heading.

Yes they still give bonus this year. The payout date is this Friday, 4/10. It is included in Black’s email sent out today.

If people know anyone hiring full stack software developers and mobile developers please let me know. I can recommend some real talent that was impacted.

I was laid off as well and I was a Software Developer in a profitable group. They let at least four of us go in Raleigh and one in Litchfield, IL that I heard about. I worked very hard for Allscripts over 8 years. Lots of good people there. Will miss it very much. Wish the best to the people remaining.

I am wandering if the corporate officers took the bonus. If they did, nobody should be associated with this crime family. It is the time to jump off the boat. Laid off people are just the lucky ones. 🤮

I got laid off as well from a Director position. Lots of financial pressure, clients not paying their bills due to lack of elective surgeries, AHS not paying bills due to revenue loss, 3rd party companies not able to deliver services due to their own furloughs. Was told my position was being eliminated and it was not a performance issue; received an email with the new org structure late today and the position still exists with someone from a completely different part of the organization, same direct reports, same responsibility - politics.

Pro EHR, APM and PayerPath lost some staff. Common Components also. Some Developers; QA and Business Analysts. Some project managers and I have heard of at least one well respected DEV manager. Long list of very experienced and long term employees. Based on other postings at this site, appears multiple products have list staff over past couple of weeks but today was the BIG slaughter. Company had taken advantage of COVID-19 to make these cuts. Company leaders do not take responsibility for multiple poor business decisions over the past few years. Sad day at Allscripts but nirvana unexpected to those of us that have been watching for years.

Management did take a hit. I was affected and am a Director. I know of others as well.

Raleigh always take the brunt of it. Didn’t think their were any US employees left to let go. Management need to take a hit. Way to many managers in that company
