Since the coronavirus, fidelity has the 2nd round of 10% coming. So total on last month 20%. But after record profits they still only look out for the shareholders and never the employee.
Fidelity when the country recovers and everyone starts to hire I will keep reminding them how you won't or wouldn't carry your workforce for a few months.
Is what's funny is how they got rid of some of the senior older people and let the younger less experience people stay
I was laid off 4/16/2020. After 15 years with the company. My severance was 3 months of Cobra insurance covered and a "Thank you for your service" read directly from the termination documents. All via a scheduled 1 hour MS Teams meeting (which they rushed into 18 minutes) and termination Docusign email which had as much, if not more detail on how to return my laptop/company confidentiality than on services available to help those who lost employment. When I had questions on the forms sent, I was told they didn't have time due to having to make the next call and to call or email later. I did call that afternoon, after emailing first with no reply, for info needed to apply for COVID-19 benefits. Still no reply. Best part was after the call my laptop and phone were wiped immediately. Any and all personal data gone without warning.
While I understand the mass layoffs, the robotic and scripted way it was handled was horrible and disrespectful to loyal employees. In my opinion.
My wife was laid off today (4/13) after about 5 years of loyal service as an attorney and a team manager. No severance package, except an offer to cover COBRA for 3 months.
I will be layed off as of 4/17 after 10 years with company.
