According to my wife who works at Hy-Vee, the shields they have in place for protection are not really adequate for protection from the customers. So once again Hy-Vee doesn't think ahead and ask themselves, is this really protecting our employees or do we just come up with something as cheap and fast as possible to keep from getting any more poor publicity due to the earlier restructuring controversary? I guess they will wait and see what Wal-Mart does when they get a real solution, that seems to be Hy-Vee's guidance.

All we got was a 10% increase in pay per hour for 2 weeks. Other Midwest businesses are at least compensating their employees through this pandemic and with a 2$ flat raise not 10%. They were just looking for more reasons to give upper management and corporate executives more money. Yes the masks they provided us are garbage.
You should see the masks we were provided. They are strips of t-shirt fabric you can see through and barely cover the nose and mouth. Surely Hy-Vee can do better than that. Staying 6 feet away from people is impossible in the store environment. People ignore the one way signs and the circle spacers and continue to treat a trip to the store as a social outing, bringing along friends and the kids. The sneeze guards they have installed would need to be the entire length of the conveyor and be floor to ceiling to be effective. If grocery stores are to be serious about this, there has to be some policing (which no one seems willing to do - heaven forbid we offend people) and effective PPE should be provided. Otherwise, I see some wrongful death lawsuits coming down the pike.
Tell her to wear a mask and wash her hands and stay 6 ft away from people. Take a shower after work and wash her clothes every night. She will be fine.
True
The CEO talks the talk, but doesn’t walk the walk! Randy E. surely can’t sleep at night knowing how many lives he has ruined or directed his hand picked executives to do for him.
