A lot of the statements here are justified but also seen from only 1 point of view and there are some inaccuracies. for a start there is a comment basically saying all the FSEs are useless, i strongly disagree, in europe you have some of the most experienced FSE in the world, guys with experience from the engine shop and 30+ years experience, but there can be uneven distribution of the experience.

Petty true about the management, they are bean counters but that's not to say they are arse holes. They generally do support and do listed to you. And most of all, they leave you alone, zero micro-management, and as long as you perform do your job, justify your costs then it's no problem.

It's wrong to say its a bad place to work, its varied, solid work with opportunity to earn a lot of money with good job satisfaction. I feel like it's what it would be like to be your own boss but without the hassle of generating your own work. Final verdict. Happy to be part of the team.

Do not join. Vanity projects costing millions have now led to significant job losses. Infighting and poor leadership. Nepotism is rife, family and extended family are promoted rather than skills.

Fieldcore is a joke. Their management cannot recognize a GT from a generator. Many of them never seen a power plant. New FE are useless. Customer complain daily

Dont join Fieldcore, you will be laid off within 6 months as they hire someone younger and cheaper or they just close the program you are in.

Having joined GE under the old I&SE fiend eng group. I saw the changes in field service over the next 40 years. I was lucky to retire before it really got messed up and went out on my own for 10 years. I saw futher decline which was great fir my business. From what i see fieldcore has hit bottom. Ok for a few years to get sone experience but no future for long term. GE is not the company i started with. Decline started when they pushed fir service to be a stand alone profit center. Management changed to be $ driven not customer satisfaction driven. In fact they had little or no interest in turbines or their employees or. customer. It is sad to see it all go to sh–.
