Massive Layoffs at U-Haul

I work at U-Haul. I've heard it's somewhere around this number (6000), while the field only has about 15k employees to begin with.

This includes many people in the field (the majority), and also some people in the corporate towers (I don't have an estimate of how many laid off from headquarters, but there's over 2,000 people employed here, so I'd guess at least 300-600).

It appears they've eliminated more than $200 million per year just in estimated payroll costs, not to mention healthcare costs.

My entire customer service team was let go not laid off. FIRED!

Whoever this Anonymous poster is that continues to say there have not been layoffs is obviously a current employee who is lying for some unknown reason possibly someone from Public relations.

UH has laid off people before. Why lie this time around?

Anyone who says this is fake news is lying or part of the U-Haul social media department. I worked for U-haul for decades and we were let go with no severance. UH is lying.

It’s not fake news! Thousands of people at U-Haul have been let go. And these are not furloughs. Massive cuts were also made at their their insurance company. Long time employees were let go with no severance, they were told their jobs would not be available when the pandemic was over: thousands have lost their health insurance because of this.

I was laid off on the April 2 nd from the towers so no it is not fake news

I work from home (service and support.) And I was laid off yesterday due to covid19. not fake news, bud.

Really, tell that to myself (laid off) and others laid off. Was laid off yesterday morning at 7:00am from the towers.

This is fake news. There have been no layoffs at U-Haul.
