Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

"Synergies"

Hey EC and Board, see how great the merger is!? Isn't this a wonderful thing!? LOXY and LAPC dislike each other a ton, but we all really dislike you more as we've all been screwed over. Sure, no one saw a pandemic disease shutting down the world. No one saw the price of oil plummeting because of OPEC+ falling a part. But there were serious problems before that.

Lack of vision. Lack of communication. Lack of integration. Lack of planning. Lack of common since and understanding. So do us all a favor and stop telling us we have to come together and work harder together because you truly don't give a s%@& about us.

How about you all cut your pay and bonuses entirely? Other CEOs do it to help their business and employees but not you, no. Now you're going to run to the Fed and ask for a bailout because you took risks and they backfired hard on you. But through it all, let's make believe we're one happy company.... HA!

Don’t be letting Hicki Vollub off the hook so easily. She’s the high flyer rubbing shoulders with the elites at Davos, Middle East, the Vatican.
If somebody could have foreseen an epidemic it would have been her.
If only she would have contracted covid-19 through all the shoulder rubbing we might have gotten rid of her.

Anyone who uses the word Synergy in a meeting deserves to be promptly disregarded. It's buzz-word b—s—.

the kind of stuff that the hundreds of SAP consultants would say on a daily basis.

Awesome article.

“ (Bloomberg Opinion) – There are a couple of ways of summarizing what’s happened with Occidental Petroleum Corp. since CEO Vicki Hollub went all-in on buying Anadarko Petroleum Corp. last year. One would be that the deal trashed Oxy’s relationship with shareholders and saddled it with too much debt, leading to chronic underperformance and, when disaster struck, a massive dividend cut. An alternative take might be:

Ms. Hollub enhanced the value of Occidental’s portfolio of assets through the Anadarko acquisition, which strengthened Occidental’s long-term value proposition.

That second one comes from Oxy’s preliminary proxy statement, filed this week.”
