Thread regarding Chico's FAS Inc. layoffs

What's next?

First store closings, now furloughs... What do you think is the next thing Chico's FAS will throw our way? Are permanent layoffs a possibility? I'm really stressing over all of this. I'm the only one who works in our family and this is really hurting us. If this lasts past April...I don't even want to think about it.

The layoffs also came with No Severance for employees under the VP level. Even associates that have been there well over 10 years did not receive ANYTHING except a good luck.

Does anyone know how many were laid off yesterday?

Not sure why there is no news but most of furloughed employeees were let go as of yesterday along with executives. Really surprised that there is no news at all anywhere about this.

I wouldn’t recommend depending on this company for anything. They cut employees all of the time for various reasons. No loyalty or caring to their people at all. I won’t shot at any of the brands because of this. Be careful and get your resume going. Talk to recruiters.

I would recommend taking this time to update your resume. Retail will be very slow to recover especially for companies like Chico’s, J Jill, J Crew, Anthro, etc. who’ve had constant challenges making plan and now borrowing against their line of credit to keep the company afloat.
Hope for the best but plan for the worst. But have a plan.
