Thread regarding Shamrock Foods layoffs

Middle Management is New - Shamrock Culture is dead

Shamrock is going through layoffs (Mar-Apr 2020) - it seems at all levels except management.
I worked there 5 years - Was a great culture. Good place to work.

In the last couple years there has been a turnover of middle management - that never understood the culture - and unfortunately never will. Too bad.

Really is too bad. Was a great culture, until a couple years ago. Over 30% of those laid off are over 50. The company line that we treat customers as friends and employees as family is now dead. They can never use that line again. Some companies restructured salaries to keep everyone. Something you might consider for family... no more.

Unfortunate visible change in management in recent years. No real inspirational leaders, only self-absorbed jokers. Talk a good talk but no longer walk it. Layoffs needed but during such a recent decline in culture, that combination may be a very bad thing. Yes, it's really too bad.
