Thread regarding Sysco Corp. layoffs

"All in" ...I think not!

Last year, Sysco conducted a company wide meeting where the catch phrase was "All in", which was supposed to mean that employees were "All in" to do their best for Sysco and Sysco was going to do what was best for the employee. Needless to say "All in" was a one way street, what can the employee do for Sysco and when things get tough, it's the employee who gets the shaft. I just read where the CEO for Texas Roadhouse is forgoing his salary for the year so that his employees can remain on the job and get paid, they have a saying, "They are a people company, which happens to serve steaks", it seems to me that Texas Roadhouse can also add that they are really "All in", with Sysco "All in" is just a hollow marketing phrase. Sysco, you dropped the ball!!!!

Not the same company it use to be, coming from a 28 yr employee, left over a year ago as I could see where this new "Culture" was headed...Stopped caring about customers or employees, it will be the death of a once great company! There is life after Sysco after all.. God Bless!

When you say "they should have saved enough money" remember that they have to report to stockholders. Hurican keeps boasting that they have 2 Billion on their books in the black. It was there, it is still there, it is to make the company look good for stockholders, not to take care of their "people".

Sysco is a horrible place. I cannot believe it did not save enough money to, at least, weather a month or three of lost revenue to give its employees a chance to adapt to a potential new reality (I mean: risk, right?). The possibility that people may someday chose to cook for themselves; whether by choice or by necessity.

In any event, what is the possibility that even if Sysco's market reaches peak Covid, there is still 1) the downslope and 2) people's concerns of their food's supply chain ("[who touched my food?]").

On the bright side, at least there will be opportunity for others to feed our neighbors. Opportunity is the blessing of all of this.

Stay safe; be well!. Be kind; acknowledge you could be wrong.

From the life time that I spent there I witnessed Its all about what you can do for them they don't care about your family just there pockets horrible place to work c-appy management ok pay shotty policy provides for a bully atmosphere. They love to hold the money over your head and say u can make this but policy prevent u from actually making what they say. Not a good work environment. None of their managers with exception of the president are qualified for their jobs.

For the people who drink the Koolaid and think they are safe. Good luck. I left several years ago because I saw the writing on the wall with the change in company culture. The pension froze. The cube disappeared and my 19 years of loyal service was applied somewhere else. I left on my terms and I never looked back. Sysco provided for my family and I thank them for that.
