Thread regarding West Corp. layoffs

Layoffs across the business today

Still ongoing. If it wasn’t clear how much Intrado doesn’t care for their employees, it is now.

Time to take your sick leave. They do not pay out for that. Get what you can while you can.

I don't know why boomers always think their 20 years of loyalty means anything when it comes to the chopping block. Employees mean nothing to corporations, we are replaceable cogs in a giant meat grinder.

Lost vui designers, developers, engagement, project managers in Omaha, interactive services. Tenures ranged from 2-20 years. Yes some from the hubs. 6 wks severance package (allegedly.) Time off shifted to sick pay in December so that would not have to be paid out. No, business wasn't slow. Lost key contributors. Yes, business is up in healthcare. Lost key players there too. A lot of talent just pushed out the door.

Up to 5 now in the West Point office from what I’ve heard (office, not call center). I’ve heard of specific people from multiple departments- Ops, Sales, Finance, GTS/IT. Sounds like it wasn’t specific to any one location or department, but everywhere.

I heard that the max you can receive is 6 weeks of pay if you get laid off. Such a cheap company. Those people were lucky who got out last year. Their severance package was good.

What divisions had layoffs, sales, marketing, tech support, safety services? Any information on these areas?

The policy manual was updated last year, there is no defined severance payout anymore. If someone got severance they would have had to sign papers saying they can't talk about it, so I wouldn't expect a lot of details. The CARES act passed last week will provide $600/wk to people laid off until the end of July, on top of state unemployment. My sympathies to anyone who got cut yesterday, good luck in your job search.

These POS leaders caused this. They let experienced people go without a transition, training for others, and lack of back fills. No wonder goals are not being met!

Meanwhile, we all know some people that need to go, but they will be protected.

  1. 6 million people across the country filed for unemployment as of 3/28. If this doesn’t tell you the character of John and his circus, you will never get it.

They are the worst kind of humans.

You would think that the coronavirus outbreak would be a boon for the healthcare notifications business, but word is we lost out on a lot of sales because our install time for new customers is too long.

Looks like at least 2 from Mobile. With downturn of business lately look for more in health care business soon. Look at the Qs. It’s bad.

I have heard of quite a few people in the Omaha office. Also people that have been with the company for over 20 years.

Hopefully they are giving good severence packages, because there were rumors of them cutting those as well.

Nobody is hiring during this time and unemployment claims and checks are delayed as well.

F— them!!! Glad I just got out!!!

Layoffs due to missed revenue target. Intrado is evaluating revenue against target on a quarterly basis and using cost cutting to make up the difference if revenue is below target.

Bad time to do this, with COVID-19. Going to be hard for people to find decent work.

There were layoffs in the Louisville office today. It’s going to be difficult looking for a job with the current Corona Virus issues. The company definitely doesn’t care about its employees.
