Bailey Yard

I read on a facebook trend someone saying they would close Bailey Yard. There is no possible way they would shut that down. We have best numbers in system and very busy working lots OT. Largest yard in system. No UP without NP.

To the person who wishes that they contract out the entire railroad, you are very likely to have you wishes come true.

I think it’s cute some of you believe the guys running UP have any sort of a long term plan. These guys are shooting from the hip and at the moment everyone is in a panic over the price of the stock.

Car counts, work signed off, pie charts, attaboys, or how many times they tell you we are safe here, or what they spent yesterday, nothing matters except the the manipulated numbers and quotas. When they decide you are sh– down, it will happen.

They will spend a thousand to save a nickel. Nothing is completely safe except the 10th and the 25th, until it isn’t anymore.

NP shop just got a new $500,000 lunch room remodel, NLR spent that much on security trying to keep billy bob off his sister during lunch.

Bailey has two humps North Little Rock has one and still keeps up with Baileys numbers. They are dumping money into NLR to extend outbound rails, when was the last time they dumped an obscene amount of money in Bailey. What it’s going to boil down to is fuel which region is cheaper fuel wise to travel through. Neither location is safe in the end, they are going to shut locations down to try to save money even though it isn’t going to be enough in the end.

I believe Pocatello Idaho once thought they were important they also jumped cars. I’ve been told it’s pretty much a whistle stop now. Just what I’ve been told.

LOL, you have no idea how many times I have heard that in the past, only to have Uncle Pete shut down not only the mechanical shop and car shop, but essentially shut down the yard leaving only a handful of people behind so they can claim to not have shut down a yard. That yard is now a locomotive storage facility... It is 3 hours west of NP. This company can and will do whatever it needs to do to meet its goals, last year it had mother nature to blame...this year it has the china virus to use as a reason.

Time to pull your head from your a$$ and accept the fact that NP is not as important as the locals like to think it is. Coal is done, thanks to Obummer. The money is in long haul freight which can be served just as efficiently by the southern route and not have to deal with the attitudes and entitlements of the locals in NP. All one has to do is look at where the capital improvements have been concentrated for the last 5 years or so.

For every one talking c-ap post some numbers. Car count is car count. How many trains go through your yard. So on and so fourth.

Nlr humps way more cars than anyone on the system. Bailey is just a car holding center. North Platte has been fudging the numbers so glad upper managment is seeing the true colors of that place. Shut it down.

Uncle Pete spent years and a fortune on Brazos, only to toss it. Uncle Pete hires people only to furlough them after training. If you think Bailey is safe because it is big and a lot of work goes through there, you don't know the company you work for very well.

Yes, Bailey is the largest yard. That does not equate to how necessary it is. There have been ongoing studies as to what options are feasible, including with and without Bailey.
