They changed parts of the web site and broke it! If you are already on unemployment and try to file your weeks, the system kicks you out once you try to get to the page where you enter in the work you contacted during that week. It says once you login that the work requirements are waived for anyone that files after 3/15/2020. Well, we all were unemployed before that and applied. NOW, we cannot file our weeks because of the change they made for the new layoffs. Stupid shts cannot even figure out how to change software to put it back. DeSantis and group are as bad as UHC and Optum management and are as dumb as a bag of rocks! They don't know when it is going to be fixed. I guess we will have to deplete our 401K's at this point to make sure our bills are paid. Because god forbid, anyone gives a break on our bills. The govt, UHC and Optum should be k–led for this!!

Eligibility for unemployment benefits is based on exhausting ALL income sources including the last severance payment. Some employers split the severance amount over several pay cycles while others will pay a lump sum. If that last severance portion has not been paid to you YET, then it means that you are still receiving income in the form of severance and that will result in denying your application for unemployment benefits. If you apply for unemployment benefits AFTER you have received your last severance payment, then you become eligible for unemployment benefits because you are not receiving any severance from that point forward, assuming you haven't worked for pay at all. No income of any kind = eligible for unemployment benefits
Actually i was also denied unemployment in FL due to receiving severance. i checked with another FL employee who was also laid off and he indicated the same thing happened to him. So it's not uncommon for FL to deny if you received a severance package.
Severance does not disqualify you for unemployment benefits in FL. Recommend that you file an appeal, if that junky system will let you through. So far, their email web form doesn't work because it rejects the email address you enter for them to contact you, and the phone system hang up on you after playing a pre-recorded message. The class action lawsuit against FL was dismissed. And those people have jobs!?!?!?!
FL told me I did not qualify for unemployment because I was given a severance package.
