While your setiments are nice, they are not based on anything real in the world today. Airlines are large corporations nothing more. The CEO and CFO don't give a rats behind about their workers, no matter how they try and spin their P.R. releases. That is just to keep the Stock price up, period! In real world situations like today's Covid-19 pandemic, people are not flying, and in many cases Can Not fly due to other country restrictions. An airline that makes MOST of its money flying international , that has all its wide body jets on the ground is NOT sustainable, and that's where we're are.
The few domestic flights that are happening must be at capacity to make any money on the flight. 80 percent doesn't cut it.
Bottom line...ALL Airlines will be MUCH smaller for quite some time, and layoffs WILL happen to the "common workers" ,that's all the ground staff. Airlines are not just Pilots and Flight Attendance personal. There are hundreds more ground workers and maintenance personal that get those Planes flight worthy every day, and Airport Agents that are being replaced by Keyosks. Thousands of them will loose their lively hood, with no other Airline to go to.
