Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

People who volunteer for pay cut will be saved

I came to knowledge that people who volunteer for pay cut will be saved. All other will be considered for layoffs in first place if necessary.

Anyone who is not willing to cut 25% or more will be in Menke’s radar. More is better.... If you are a sh–ty manager, director or above who is making $125k+ think about unpaid leave for 6+ months. Especially, if you care about people who do the real work - we know you don’t. Maybe when you come back we can save the company, and you can still have a job and pretend you contribute.

When Sabre started experiencing financial problems number of offers on LinkedIn sent by recruiters tripled. So I'm not cutting anything. Good luck with firing me.

It is clear, this thread was started with Sabre Management. They want employees to feel fear and cut their salary.

It is also clear that only people with poor skills will volontairy cut their salary, because they are aware, it won't be easy to find a new job for them.

So if Sabre really wants to fire guys who didn't cut their salary, they will end up having only those imposters, who should be laid off a long time ago.

I was going to post some snarky comment, but this just makes me sad a little. I'm working with a lot of really nice people, people that really seem to care for others. More than that, they are, as Red Forman might put it, experienced, loyal and har working. They just don't know technology that much. It's not their fault, but it makes this a joke of a tech company. People are working their asses off over here, burning their night oil... with work that could be done in half of that time, if done right.
So yeah, let's fire people, that "don't seem to care for this company", that will make it better.

Hey mo–ns - THAT IS ILLEGAL IN MOST COUNTRIES OUTSIDE OF THE US. Why do you think it's a voluntary cut? It certainly isn't out of the goodness of anyone's heart.

If you get laid off, they are legally exposed and obligated to pay you more in most non-US countries, so stop screwing over fellow employees by posting propaganda with no actual facts behind it. It's reckless. Kick rocks.

Yes it matters you P.O.S
If that is the policy its a great one.

Regardless of the pay scale of the individual.
The people that stay here should be the people that care more for others and give more than others. All the other people are exactly the leaches of the company that we need to get rid of.

If you ask me, thats how they should have done this whole layoff thing to start with.
Weed the selfish leaches out first.

If you think this company has ANY loyalty to its employees, you haven't been here that long!

So that's why they wait till the end of March for voluntary pay cut...
In April layoffs are quite likely.

I hope we will not lose the most talented people even in the LCCs.

Does it really matter? Savings from all India employees 15% pay cut till July would be only $4.5M

Not really a surprise.
But not in line with the management "transparency" at all.
