Thread regarding American Airlines Group Inc. layoffs

American Airlines Layoffs 2020

I was working as contractor in IT department and they ended my assignment. Based on my vendor information they laid off 50% of contractor to stop losses. Hopefully the worst is over for AA

#7jx1–if that is how their management is, then its really bad. Are the managers not trained? Wow.

They laid off regular IT employees in Jan. Surprised that AA kept contractors and brutally laid off employees.

Also let go as a contractor after the airline scare crashed their stock price and their flights started being cancelled a few weeks ago. I was there for some time and my IT work applauded by several groups outside my department. But when I was let go by my immediate manager, instead of thanking me for my time there, or discussing the virus scare and the business struggles as the true cause of the layoffs, the manager used it as a tool to stroke his ego and prove himself right about a disagreement we had two years ago. I then found out this same manager also abused a IT coworker of mine that quit before me after reporting him to the director and other senior level managers.

AA may not survive after 2020 simply because they attract the worst in management that have zero training in both IT and interpersonal skills. I’ve worked at several different companies across north Texas and this company is by far the most unprofessional and disorganized business Ive ever been a part of. It’s shocking how much waste there is because of the disorganization and how poorly this company’s IT departments are run. I see now why AA went broke 7 years ago.

Me too. I'm surprised it's not 100% of the contractors yet.
