Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Bill for benefits?

Has anyone received the bill for benefits from YBR yet? I was told they were going in the mail on the 10th, but have not received it yet.

I wish ours was $900. Our bill is $1600 for employee and one dependent, medical, dental, and life insurance. $800 a month. Not great, but at least we still have medical.

There's too many variables for us all to compare our bills. When I compared to healthcare.gov, I was paying 'roughly' 22% less by continuing with Transformco. Also important: I have guaranteed life insurance, which is 3x my annual pay. It winds up being a decent deal cost wise for me. Family plan, 2 dependents, vision, dental, life.

Update - now that I've received the actual paper bill, that 900 bucks is actually for two months. Maybe they ARE still carrying a portion of it.

900 dollars is a bargain compared to 'family' coverage.... the rates for family were like 1700 a month for all coverage. Plus you still have to meet co-pay's and deductibles. It's like another mortgage payment. That's what the COBRA rates were in 2018 when I was caught up in the layoffs.

Yes, that is one month. Myself plus one dependent, medical, dental, vision. Transformco is sticking us with the entire bill, which I suppose is their right, so even though I'm still technically an employee of the company, it's basically COBRA. They are not contributing anymore.

I didn't get mine either. But, I do check my work email once a week just for giggles, and I had an email about a new document available at 88sears. I went to it and there it was, a bill for over 900 dollars, with an attached note that said it was now past due. I wouldn't wait for the paper bill if you need the coverage.
