This company was much better when privately owned. Since corporate buyouts it’s been down hill ever since. Funny though, there’s several manufacturing plants in Wuhan China. Hmm. Cummins knew about this virus last year and wanted to get rid of many employees. People were offered early retirement last fall and refused. Well come first quarter of 2020 and those who refused the offer are now gone. Longtime employees with decades of knowledge. The ones that are left are now walking in circles not knowing what to do. Had to take a 20 to 25 percent pay cut and down to 4 day work week. This company will eventually go under. Thanks to the id–ts at the top.

Your exactly right, the new hires and less tenured think they are the exception, they are the ones that will be left alone. No way i hell. Cummins believe it or not doesn't want any longterm american employee in the salary class. They truly want long term contract employees and when things get slow they can tell the contractor that we don't need that many engineers anymore. They also want it for hourly, and other companies have done it where they made all their tech staff contract employees hired through another company.
Look out everyone, with this virus issue going on and trust me this bad year or years on the way. Don't be surprised if they don't start to make more and more areas just being worked by contract workers.
And yet all the new hires and less tenured employees are praising the company for forward thinking. Just wait until they figure out they are looking at Cummins through rose colored glasses.. Cummins has been well known to destroy the lives of their employees for the past few decades.. Yet we all need to remember that we have a choice. To continue to work for Cummins or realize there is a large job market out there that wants each of us.. Never let Cummins hold you back and never think they have your best interests in mind..
