Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

It’s a matter of time

We will all be out of a job sitting home. From my brief interactions with the management team. I can clearly see that their demeanor is off like they know something is going to happen. Like a workforce reduction but they are told to say everything is fine. Layoffs are definitely in the works for healthcare and power. After the aviation unit cuts 13,000 people next will be power. The power unit has been for a long time a drag on the company portfolio. From the writing on the wall and the signs of the times we are in. This will be pushing the company’s 10 year plan with power closer together. It would not surprise me to see some main plants shut down to save the stock and ship the remaining little bit of work to Poland or somewhere. The lower pay grade workers are under skilled, cry all the time and lazy. They are so unskilled that’s why the ones shoe got laid off said they will not return came back. Soon they will be out the door again and this time no call backs. The legacy grade paid workers are skilled but over paid for these trying times.

Nobody who was laid off the last go around came back because nobody was interested in being laid off again. It's funny how much your outlook on life will change, how positive your attitude will become and how much your mental health will improve when you aren't worried and wondering everyday if it's all going to end soon. When you realize you aren't surrounded by a bunch of back stabbers, your stress level drops drastically. Why would anybody want to return to that after escaping it?? That's like returning to an abusive relationship because you admit you can't do any better and you're afraid of being alone. The t rates were never that beaten down and now they have a better relationship with another place. As one of those nonreturning t rates put it to me, "I wish GE the best but it will never happen because they already had me and they will never have me again". There is life after GE.

Um I don't think someone crying or being lazy is a reason they decided not to come back to ge, I think they finally just got sick of the companies bs and games and went a different way. I for one have been with the company for 8 years and if I get laid off again I will not return there is no more stability with this company.
