Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

60 days from June 12th is August 11th

Convenient timing, given a lot of LAPC protection ends August 9th.

There is a good reason clause that ends this August which provided LAPC additional protection. LAPC is still eligible for COC for layoffs until August 2022, but large pay cuts and benefits reductions are fair game come this August.

I keep hearing that August this year is when theCOC for LAPC ends... I also heard when we bought APC that the COC is for 2-3 years.

Which is it? Different for different functions, groups, salary grades, locations, what?

Force Majeure is in play because of emergency laws shutting down businesses .

Protections for layoffs continue, but nothing else. Salary cuts, office closures, furloughs are all fair game. Since they can't afford to ax LAPC, what's to stop them from laying off LOXY and backfilling with LAPC? Who cares if they don't have the training or skillset? Certainly not management.

LAPC protections don’t end on August 8, 2020. They end August 8, 2022.

What does that have to do with anything?
