Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

News has been pretty quiet around here. Does that mean the worst is over. For now at least?

You people thinking we are gonna lay-off another 15,000 are just as dumb. We have eliminated nearly 10,000 people this year so far. Our headcount is almost down in the 30,000s. You act like 100% of oil production is shut down. Plenty of oil is still being drilled. US land is down, not as much everywhere else. If you work for halliburton in US land Fracking, ya maybe be a bit worried as we were headcount heavy in that group but for everyone else In the company it’s been about a 15%-20% decline in work from last year and will recover somewhat by years end.

Think about what happened in 2015. There were layoffs throughout the year.

Yes the worst is over. Going forward it will be small if any based on conditions at your individual location.
