Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

How do you go about finding and consulting an employment lawyer?

I don’t even know where to start to sort through all this madness and I don’t want to miss something important that I regret. How are you all going about this?

There is an attorney review site called AVVO where you can find client reviews of particular lawyers for what it is worth. It is like the Yelp reviews for the legal profession.

Call NELA for a referral.

Or your State's Bar Association.
Start now, because they will be inundated with calls.

If you consult a lawyer, attorney referral information is fine, just don’t share case or consultation specifics to maintain attorney client privilege.

Those who consult an attorney and wish to share the information on this forum... would be highly appreciated.

A lot of people are using Stuart PC downtown. This is not a paid advertisement, just a personal referral

If you live in Texas, the Texas Bar is a great place to start.

The link below has many case law examples. If you're after COC, "good reason" is the only current "out" that you have.
