Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Thoughts on reopening in June?

What is everyone's thoughts on whether we will actually be back in the office in June. I know that's the plan so far, just curious if there is anyone else that thinks that it could change?

They could phase in opening but won’t until the extra unemployment runs out. Right now, the partially furloughed are making more than they did working 40 hours so they’re not going to push to work full time.

In my opinion, the only hope is a robust ecomm platform. Close all stores and if the virus gets under control open Apple type stores for service and some sales. Cut operational expenditures by 75% and treat the company like a new startup. Good luck to Fossil. I am hoping for it's survival and rebirth.

I think leading up to june, with the significant loss of business, you'll see different activity taking place such as a further downsizing (store closures and more layoffs across regions). If by June the virus is contained in the DFW area, those spared will probably be looking at a blended and staggered way of operating going forward...a combination of work from home and remotely. There's really no other way to go about it, it's about the only way that'll provide minimal exposure to staff. Everything as we know it will forever change, but too soon to know exactly what that means right now. Take care
