why can't they just say yes or no as we submit offers instead of causing the mental torments they do ...

they want to set the staff off fighting each other with ever smaller offers to leave
Its a truly awful way to conduct your business but this company has no morals so they think its smart
Its not it demotivating and demoralising and it will cost them more in the end as the people that remain will be the ones the company doesn't need to get them back on their feet
All the talent will leave and only the costly old people will be left

Fear and or anxiety are nothing more than a “feeling”, no different than you feel hot you feel cold you feel hungry. That “fear” can never hurt you physically, it’s merely you being in conflict with your subconscious. You cannot control what is decided, regardless of the outcome, all you can do is move forward. Take solace in what you know, life is far too short to ponder on what you “can’t control”. Worry, fear and or anxiety doesn’t help you rectify your problem, it only exasperates those emotions.
Hang in there, if you turned it in just keep doing your work and don't let them have a reason to fire you. I just hope that everyone that puts in for it will get to take the VSP. It might not be the exact terms you want, but I think many expect that. Good luck.
