Aberdeen plant

Is it true that the Aberdeen manufacturing plant is downsizing? Hearing rumors that only sales and essential support team will be left?

Aberdeen and Singapore are armpits of the company. Anthony is an id–t with poor management. Nothing is every ready and jobs always delayed. Dril-Quip should close it’s doors.

I hope they close Aberdeen, low quality and take for ever to finish a product. Houston fast and perfect quality

Possibly, but they sc-aped the barrel by hiring a few that were originally made redundant, DQ simply cannot attract experienced machinists, fact...need to be careful this time round

Machinists will be okay apart from the ones on the hit list.

Hardly drinking the kool aid if that’s your point. That whirring noise though is Larry, Gary and Mike spinning in their graves. Can you imagine bird with that three?

Losing the pipe shop was a given with the connectors moving to Singapore. Africa would make more sense as it is closer and fits with the DQ philosophy of cheap labour and poor quality. Can't see the m/c shop going anywhere. A lot happening in Norway and they won't touch Houston equipment with a barge pole due to poor past experiences. If they do close the m/c they will lose a lot of work in the North Sea and Europe.

Guyana makes sense. Cheap labour and serves Brazil Mexico and the gulf.
