Boooowhoooo very few in corporate America get pensions anymore, old timers. That isn’t unique to Boeing nor is cost cutting. You want to blame someone for the Max - blame the engineer and mechanics and executives (yes There were still VPs in Seattle after HQ moved) who kept quiet of failed. It isn’t Solely Chicago’s fault nor is it MDs fault.

@1xel+14TWXke1 I voted, my side lost (I wanted to keep pensions), but guess what? That's how it works. We have a union, we voted, the majority has spoken. You and I don't get to b–ch either.

We are members of the union, we pay dues, we abide by the vote.

Boeing is a shell of what it used to be. For the mouth breathers saying Boeing is the best job in aviation you'll ever have, are the ones who can't get hired anywhere else. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
Boeing knows what they're going to do and the media will know before its employees will.
Aviation companies are hiring, move on before you get mired in debt. This company is an absolute sh– show.
They deserve what's happened to them.

Even before this crisis I said F Boeing. It's literally a joke. Almost a mirror image of what I expected. Not enough training, not enough management, not enough qualification, not enough validation, not enough PPE, not enough guidance, not enough anything. And they wonder why their reputation is so low. So no, it's not selfishness and nobody would say F Boeing if they couldn't get a job anywhere else. In fact it's the complete opposite. You have it backwards. People say F Boeing because they don't need it and there is plenty of opportunity out there. Or even starting your own business would be more beneficial. What a disappointment Boeing has turned out to be. Good riddens. It's not that I'm mad, I'm hoping to get laid off. What a drag.

There's never been no booms or busts like this though.

Boeing WAS a great company. Then they merged with MD and brought in Harry Stonecipher. WE buy MD, and they give us THEIR failed management. Ever since, Boeing has been led by bean counters instead of leaders who understand engineering and airplanes. Harry and his team put MD in the toilet, so he was rewarded with running Boeing. Failing upwards...again.

Muilenberg came from Boeing, but he bought into the GE-style of maximized production with minimal engineering to save costs. On the MAX, if there has just been a redundant sensor system, MCAS probably would have been a blip on the radar. On a commercial airliner, who would be stupid enough to sign-off on a non-redundant system? Dennis Muilenberg and Team, that's who.

Maximizing production is fine, as long as you maintain quality and safety. Boeing didn't do that, because short-term profit overrode Boeing tradition. That might be fine if you're making appliances, but it doesn't work out very well with airplanes.

GE Dave is in charge now, and his decisions seem to mirror those of someone more familiar with refrigerators and air conditioners instead of aircraft. He's treating employees like garbage because we're being played liked poker chips, except nobody really even knows what game Dave is playing right now. It would sure be nice to actually know what the plan is, but we're not allowed to get details, even though we are the ones directly affected.

Dave will be just fine, and will surely plan himself a handsome exit from this debacle. Bring back the "Old Boeing", where we had people up top who actually understood how to build, market, and design airplanes.

We don't need Jack Welch Jr. running the show right now.

When you are cashing the checks, you don't say f Boeing.
Even when planes go down, you want to keep your job and keep bringing in the cash.
Even when a virus takes down air travel be 95% and airlines are cancelling orders, all you can think about is where's my money.

Those saying f Boeing are selfish and can't get a job anywhere else. Or they know they are getting laid off.

The aerospace industry has been cyclical from the beginning. There are booms and busts even without crashes and COVIDs.

If you don't know that, Boeing does hire the dim.

Boeing was a great company, it allowed us to build our resume, develop skills, support our families, put our kids thru colleges, and live a comfortable live. Not many companies can provide what Boeing did. While the future is uncertain, let’s show some appreciation for the past.
