I remember when the offshoring was in full swing and leadership would say it’s not outsourcing because they are associates, in regards to hydrabad. Most of those leaders have since been laid off. Was shocked to hear about P Antony

Totally agree. Who among us hasn’t had to be on calls or meetings with our “counterpart teams” to train them over and over to do the most simple tasks, or even modify and automate things so they could just click a few buttons—making twice as much work for us and eventually working us out of our own jobs. So sad because it’s not just like we did one thing, it was a whole source of knowledge that disappears with each person or team they cut out. Let alone the culture.
Anthony been gone for years....move now is to go away from vendor resource contracts and back to badged Walmart employees....include beefing up both Bentonville and Walmart India offices. So no more cognazant, UST, etc.... Still the same old story cause it's cut Vendor contactors of 100 people and add on 60 Walmart people (40 in India) for less. Always do more with less.
so true
- They aren’t cheaper... it takes 8 of them for one skilled American. They require so much supervision

- offshoring STILL going STRONG! They just don’t call it that anymore. Wells Fargo now stating the goal is to center ALL technology in India. Think about that, a third world nation with no SEC, FTC, or other laws to safeguard operations or data!
