Sears reopening 13 stores today (May 9, 2020)

As States begin to reopen, we want to update you on the status of Sears. We are pleased to announce that 13 local Sears Stores and Sears Auto Centers will begin re-opening this Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m., and will continue to open on a rolling basis across the country. The list of 13 stores that are re-opening on May 9 can be found at the bottom of this document.

Went to a Sears store in Laredo, Texas on Wednesday May 13th. hardly any customers. Just a few employees working in the store. The auto center was the same too.

Looks pretty specific to me. They used to have multiple stores in some of the markets (Houston, San Antonio) but they didn't by the end of February 2020.

Not very specific is it. Theres multiple stores in some of those areas it doesn’t say which one is opening.

The virus was first sighted in 2019, therefore it is called Covid-19 and not Covid-20.

Why does the link say "coronavirus2019response when we are in 2020?

And they will be empty of shoppers just like they were before the pandemic.

I don't see a list of reopening stores on this link.

Interesting. So why did HR send an email saying that Sears will not reopen until May 31st at the soonest?
