Letting people go left and right. Most are via online. Real classy Mr. Sulentic . Severance is lousy. Leadership "talks" about Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. But, they certainly don't apply it when it comes to their employees.

I interviewed five times with Managers only to abruptly told there’s been a shift in management. I dodged a bullet and appreciate that HR was honest.
CBRE is back at it again. My main boss was wonderful but other than that it was a joke. My “lead” in my team rarely worked but has ten plus years in and is untouchable because is family is a main manager. Never got any raise promised and when it came time for bonuses they did a grading scale and then right before we were suppose to get the bonus they changed the scaling AFTER our reviews, making so you didn’t get the promised bonus. Severance is still one week pay, paid PTO accrued, less than a month of cobra. Blamed the layoffs on contracts.
I agree with the statements above, a lot talk about getting good people but it fall off the table as far as keeping them. Worked extra hours and never appear to get credit for it which was sad. Worked for them for short of 2 years about a month and only got one week separation pay.
I saw the handwriting on the wall. More responsibilities and didn't get the raise they promised. Left last July for a job with big pharma with a 20% increase in pay!
I was laid off by CBRE after almost 40 years and given less than two weeks notice on a Zoom call. Why didn't they just send me an email?
I just got a layoff notice, and from what I understand I was one of hundreds in this third round of layoffs. It's an unfortunate nature of the beast for many publicly traded companies who's main focus is stabilizing stock values. I've been with companies who handled layoffs worse, but there are certainly companies who handle it better. I was with the company for about a year and half, but after about a month the severance package will have run dry.
The most unfortunate part is getting the interview process started in December is pretty discouraging. Realistically I don't expect to see any real potential movement on jobs until next year.
I worked for cbre for a year, saw the lack of appreciation, 100% was never enough.
Took a paid vacation, emailed my bosses and said I won’t be back. No 2 week notice.
Didn’t deserve it.
I agree with all the comments above. My friend was laid off not long ago and they treated her like sh!t. Basically put her in the street without any kind of safety net. Yes, they offered job assistance for a short period of time, allowed her to look at internal job posting for which she was not qualified for, so she basically was SOL. You are only good to them when you are of value, then when you need them, you are an afterthought. Not a great company to base your career at. Other places will treat you much better, go somewhere else.
A close friend of mine was let go too. She told me the options to look for another job were limited. Many of the internal job postings were for Project people or engineers, none of which she was qualified for. On top of that, she mentioned the severance program was peanuts and CBRE did not bridge any of her benefits. Sad that a $30 Billion corporation cannot see the value of it's employees.
Here is how bad CBRE's severance package is. CBRE offers 1 week of severance per year. No benefits coverage. Now compare that to other companies like Airbnb who cares about their employees. Airbnb provided a minimum of 14 weeks of severance to all employees regardless of time with the company... Then Airbnb offered another 1 week severance for every year with the company. Plus, covered benefits costs on cobra for another year. Now that is taking care of your employees.
Yes, I was impacted by the Covid layoffs. CBRE doesn't care about the well being for long term employees. Their regular job benefits in general are not that great. There are good people at CBRE and there are number of people who are dead weight. Some areas of the company are "clickish". They don't have a severance package worth talking about. Virtually no salary is offered and no benefits extension for a bridge to an employee whose has been pushed out of a career. Would never recommend this company to anyone in the future. There are far better managed employers that are more employee oriented. Executives demand their golden parachutes and stock options for an end to their position. They don't believe their employees are deserving of the treatment. Find another place where your career and work is valued.
A co-workers job was "eliminated" although the job actually still remains. (we are a tiny department, so it was a blow) Who is going to do his job? Ohhh, the new kid they hired two months ago. The guy who got laid off is over 50 and supports a family, two kids and a sick father. He worked with our division for 15 years. No loyalty. I'm absolutely terrified I'm next. I am considering changing departments if the option is there... but I don't know where the next cuts will come.
70 in Pacific last time I heard. A couple of veterans in the transactions areas as well.
This is true - my mom was laid off after 10+ years with the company.
