Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

More concerned about money than employee safety

"The updated MSA with Industrial Scientific has been approved and we have begun migrating from the MX4 quad gas monitors back to the Tango single gas monitors. Based on current inventory numbers, our new approach should save Permian Resources as a whole at least $1.9MM a year."

The first paragraph of that email is about saving money. Not about how a 4gas monitor protects field employees better than a single gas monitor. But hey, if a few employees are k–led or hurt because they didn't have the best monitor out there, that's just less overhead which the company has to pay.

All field personnel hate the MX4 Quad Gas Meter.

You must not be a field hand, we were ecstatic to get rid of the MX4. We already have quad gas monitors that we use anyways, the MX4 made working virtually impossible.

Good news is the company won't have any Permian operations soon enough so no chance for a fatality. You can't get hurt on the job if you don't got a job. Think positive.

This is definitely the right place to express your concerns. Don't speak with your manager or HES manager about this. It's best to just complain on an obscure website. This will help for sure.
