Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

HR is a bunch of talentless clowns

From the very top it’s laughable all the way to the bottom of the very shallow talent pool

As usual, you are good at throwing b—s—. 2012 and counted till 2020.
You belong to the breed that grows by s—ing and squeezing people at every opportunity. The higher up in the chain, more s—ing you are. Your group is a bunch of parasites. You wouldn’t feel ashamed to squeeze money even out of the laid off employee.

It’s funny your complaining about them now...bet you weren’t complaining when they were approving your step rate promotions, market pay adjustments or helping you with whatever BS you need them for...not to mention you have no idea what supervisors or co workers reported you for sh– that HR shut down without you even being aware. Also I’ve seen HR fire plenty of supervisors and coworkers when people reported them so quit talking sh– about people whose jobs you are not even familiar with.

HR mission has never been to protect the employee but the company. That is true of all HR companies. HR does not choose you for layoff but your supervisor picked you. Think for a moment when you go to HR to complain about your supervisor. Who do you really think will when that battle ? You already lost when you first opened your mouth.

HR is still working remotely. Besides, who wants to waste their time driving to work to get off anyways. I’d much rather conference call in tightie whites

HR has no job but to change profile pictures during office hours. The taller we are, the lower we will stoop to.

Wow... hey let’s also talk sh*t about the mailman who delivers bills. How would like to be the one to tell thousands you don’t have a job? Think you could do better?

Before you start, you’ll need to take out that red pacifier you kept from the job fair ... when you couldn’t wait to get hired.

There have been so many causes/accusations down my direct managers but HR or GHAM’s have never even stepped in and fairly analyzed the cause.
Or whenever layoffs happen, managers “conveniently” pick the ones that they had argues with. Again HR doesn’t open it’s mouth. They clearly allow Retaliations.
Puppets!

Why are you upset with HR? They don’t pick anyone for reduction. All they do is facilitate the rest of the process once the selection is made by your managers.
If you are upset with their competency in the way they handle separation, then that is a different topic.

Do you think HR is responsible for the current market?

Wrong. Read the news.

Do you think HR actually selected you for reduction?

Wrong. Your favorite supervisor did.

my entire opinion and perspective has changed. I don’t respect them at all. Zero respect to Halliburton HR. (FYI am still at Hall, not that I don’t like them because they laid me off or something)

In a 43 year career that has included 3 super majors (mostly due to mergers) and 2 service companies I have found the HR departments of all of them to be dumping grounds for every hiring mistake the companies made.

HAL is a rudderless ship in the business ocean....no captain, and the officers have absolutely no business sense AT ALL..... after 19 years of this c-ap, i'm glad i'm gone

HR was invented so to give the mistress of the boss a reasonably well paid job.

HR departments are consistently staffed by talentless id–ts.

HR is a product of a society so that spineless humans can fit in a work environment. It’s a cancer on business, and allows undesirables a trump card if they feel threatened. It puts neutered managers in places where an ethical respectful human should preside. If you’ve said or thought, “I’ll take this issue to HR”,then you’re an asset in which a business needs HR. I’ve personally never needed HR, and being I’m over 50, I see no need. Maybe I’m lucky...

I worked at Baker before I joined Hall. Huge difference between their HR and hours. They are compassionate and really helpful, for them employees were important. Trust me - HUGE difference. Hall’s HR is heartless. They won’t say a single word to protect the employee. If the manager accuses the employee right in front of their eyes they won’t say a single word. Puppets!

Just outsource it to a third party, mainly full of bimbos and losers with no real skills besides gossip and a sick appetite for ruining people’s lives

That's true everywhere, not just at Halliburton.

HR is a net drain; companies and their productive employees would be better off without it.
