We are still spending billions of dollars and projects that will never make a profit. Google, with all their resources, has cancelled their smart cities projects. Uber sold their scooter business to Lime. Wy is Ford still pouring cash into these projects when we are cutting the hours and pay of contractors? London doesn’t have any more money than Toronto, nobody is going to be paying for these project costs.

If we told people buying cars what we really want to do with them, nobody would buy a Ford. most people prefer to avoid having our movements (or parking spot) being tracked 100% of the time, and the resulting data used to try to sell us stuff.
they are ever playing catch-up on trends.
The true players spotted the trend of people moving away from densely populated areas and working from home or from the road. They sold their bag of last years goodies to Ford for a profit, Ford takes the loss. The Ford visionaries are still banking on densely populated cities of the future to sell their wares.
If they don’t wake up and focus on core business, poof the core business will be gone
Because this is Hackett’s pet playground and he and Farley still think we can make more $ from data than from building quality, affordable vehicles that people want to buy and drive. Most of the people in this group spend most of their time kissing up and trying to be more Hackett-like. They are a waste of time and money, but believe they are the future of Ford. Very sad state of affairs for Henry Ford’s company.
