You guys underestimate the incompetence and malice of our senior leadership. These are people that have not only completely failed to prepare for any emergency but, when the emergencies came, have done such a spectacularly terrible job of leading the company through it, that it will remain a case study in corporate arrogance and malfeasance in business management textbooks for the next century.

Can you SEE it Now

Where, Oh Where is my Union tonight
Why have you left me here all alone
I searched the world over and thought I'd found safety
You got my money and ppppbbtttt you were gone.

Quite true! I worked in corporate for a time, and I can tell you it's nothing but people who have learned to try to look good all day, while making money, NOT about responsibility whatsoever. People talk themselves up at that level, and NO ONE ever checks them to see if they are full of BS (which 99% of the time they are). Fake experience, fake credentials, fake talent is rampant. Any of these people's inSite profiles have a boatload of falsehoods and half-truths in them, and no one ever checks them. No one will say "the emperor has no clothes on" because all of them have also lied their way into their jobs.
The people who get to the top (mostly in corporate) end up being those who can bend and distort the truth the best and get away with it. It's no wonder that the company is in this mess.
I am being laid off, so I'm fully cognizant that I am angry, but I think I have a right to be. I've seen the group ignorance with my own eyes.
Most of what is posted here is incontinence and not incompetence
Boeing didn't have a plan.
Bring on the layoffs
It’s in a shape of a circle. Look around at Best Buy.
@kyl+14QbOb6W True. If I do get laid off which is highly likely I can't say I'll be disappointed.
@bxw+14QbOb6W unemployment is a pay cut. I'd rather find another job that pays better than Boeing.
@jkh+14QbOb6W Asking a question doesn't mean you're unprepared. Plus you will qualify for unemployment too.
@bhm+14QbOb6W are you really not that bright? Why do you have to wait until they tell you. I have been looking for 3 weeks now. I've had 2 interviews. They said they are going to get rid of people. I don't know if I will be one of them, if I am, fine. If I'm not and I get a better offer, I'm still leaving.
As far as plan accordingly, the first day they talked about VLOs we stopped eating take out, we cut stuff out of the budget, and I updated my resume.
You go ahead and wait till the tell you and 10000 others, at least I won't be competing with you for a position because you are not in the pool yet.
It would be really nice to know what they have planned, since it's taking forever for them to let us know. Sure, we have dates for when the VLO approvals come out, and proposed dates for WARNS, but playing this waiting game is ridiculous.
If you're cutting me loose, at least let me know NOW, so I can plan accordingly. Quit effing around, Boeing.
Which factory do you speak of?
I’m a Boeing engineer. Boeing has this habit of doing mass MASS layoffs in crisis times and there’s no crisis like a plane grounding followed by a global pandemic. Our share price is a quarter of what it was last year and our factory just halted production (temporarily) but there has been no layoff talk coming from our HQ. So we’re all just sort of stewing here..
